Using WordFile Creator Pro (Korean)

		Step 1 of 4 - Project Management When starting WordFile Creator the Project Management screen is displayed offering a number of options: to load an existing wordfile project or to create a new wordfile project.  The first page also offers: (i) A tool to do a quick conversion of wordfile formats: from the Windows (XFL & XFZ) formats to the Pocket PC (XWF) format and vice versa. (ii) The option to download the latest version of the Declan Software Korean Audio Archive word list (We will soon be expanding the audio word list to over 8000 words so current users should check in occasionally using this auto-update feature).
		Clicking the "Create New Project" button will bring up the "Create New Project" dialogue box where the new project name can be entered:
		Clicking the "Load Existing Project" button will bring up a standard Open File dialogue box where the wordfile project (FCP) file can be located and loaded.
		If a project file has been loaded and modified in the recent past it will have an entry in the Recent Projects list. Clicking an entry in the Recent Projects list will open that project.
		Step 2 of 4 - Populate WordFile Once a Wordfile Project has been opened it can then be populated with words. Using the Word Sources dropdown box there are a number of ways this can be done: (i) Searching the Declan Software Korean Audio Word List. Using words from this list will allow an audio recording of every word in the list to be downloaded from the Declan Software Audio Archive and be imbedded into the WordFile. Currently there are over 9000 words and audio recordings in the archive. (ii) Searching the 20,000 EDICT Korean dictionary database. When a word from the dictionary is added that has a corresponding audio file in the Declan Audio Archive the audio recording will be linked to the word. (iii) Importing words and links to user created audio (MP3) files by means of TAB delimited TEXT files.
		Using either the Audio Word List or the EDICT dictionary is as simple as selecting the sources from the Word Sources dropdown box and then entering the word you are looking for in the Search String textbox and then clicking the "Search" button.
		The results of the search will be displayed in the Search/Import Results window.
		Words can then be added to the current WordFile project by selecting them in the "Search/Import Results:" window and clicking the "<< Add Word" button. The word(s) will then appear in the "Project Words" list.
		Double clicking on words in the "Project Words" list will bring up the "Editing Word" dialogue which allows the word, its meaning and pronunciation to be edited. The word type can also be modified and the associated sound file can be changed.
		In addition to sourcing words from the Audio Word List and the EDICT dictionary, words can be imported from TAB delimited unicode text files. This is done by selecting "Tab Delimited Text File" in the "Word Sources:" dropdown box.
		Selecting "Tab Delimited Text File" in the "Word Sources:" dropdown box will bring up the "Text File Importer" tool as shown below. The text file format has one of two formats: Four Columns (with sound file names): 일 <TAB> one <TAB> number <TAB> 1.mp3 <LINE FEED> 이 <TAB> two <TAB> number <TAB> 2.mp3 <LINE FEED> 삼 <TAB> three <TAB> number <TAB> 3.mp3 <LINE FEED> 사 <TAB> four <TAB> number <TAB> 4.mp3 <LINE FEED> where column one is the word, column two the pronunciation, column three the meaning, column four the word type, and column four the name of the MP3 sound file. Note: that all columns are separated with TAB characters and that each row ends with a manual line feed character (the return or enter key). OR Three Columns (without sound file name): 일 <TAB> one <TAB> number <LINE FEED> 이 <TAB> two <TAB> number <LINE FEED> 삼 <TAB> three <TAB> number <LINE FEED> 사 <TAB> four <TAB> number <LINE FEED> where there is no sound file column. In this case the software will search the Audio Word List for matching sound files. IMPORTANT: Mixes of four and five columns within the one text file will not work.     IMPORTANT: The text file also needs to be in UNICODE format.     IMPORTANT: The MP3 files need to be encoded as:   32 Kbps   Mono   16 bit   22050 Hz or 24000 Hz format only. 		Clicking the "Find.." button will bring up a "Open File" dialogue with which to locate the text file.
		Then click the "Import Words" button to read and verify the format of the imported text file. If all goes well the text file contents will appear in the "Imported Data Fields:" list box. Note that in this case we are using a four column text file with sound file names.
		Next the path to the MP3 files needs to be specified by clicking the "Select Sound File Path" hyperlink and navigating to the desired folder in the "Browse for Folder" dialogue.
		Clicking the "Verify Snd Files" button will check the existence and format of the MP3 files. If there is a problem the "Sound Verification Failed" dialogue will appear.   IMPORTANT: The MP3 files need to be Mono 16bit 22050Hz or Mono 16bit 24000Hz format only.
		And the sound file that causes the verification failure is highlighted in red in the "Imported Data Fields" listbox.    If the text file has four columns then words with matches in the Audio Word List will be highlighted in light blue and unmatched words will be in red.
		By selecting the "Ignore missing or incorrectly formatted sound files" check box, the program will ignore and missing sound file references or non-standard format sound files and allow progression to the next step..
		If all is well with the import it can now be imported into the by clicking the "Complete Import >>" button.
		The imported words will then appear in the "Search/Import Results:" which can then be added to the WordFile Project by selecting a word and clicking the "<< Add" button.   Click the "Next >>" button to move to Step 3.
		Step 3 of 4 - Collate Sound Files Step 3 of the process is collating the sound files associated with a projects words. The words' sound files are divided into four categories: (i) Words with sound files that have been downloaded from the Declan Software Audio Archive and are available on the local PC. No action is required for these words.
		(ii) Words with sound files that need to be downloaded from the Declan Software Audio Archive. The users PC much be connect to the internet to download the files. Once the PC is connected to the internet and the proxy setting are set as required, then clicking the "Download Snd Files" button will begin the download process. The download can be interrupted any time by clicking the "Cancel" button. The download progress is complete when the progress bar is grey and labeled "Download Complete."
		If users are using a proxy server for access to the internet, they may have to configure the proxy settings by clicking the "Proxy Settings" button:
		(iii) Words that have been associated with user supplied MP3 files. These may need to be checked, collocated or converted by clicking the "Process User Sound Files".   (iv) Words that have no sound files associated with them. No action is required for these words. Once the required actions are completed the "Next >>" button can be clicked to proceed to the final step (4). Click the "Next >>" button to move to Step 4.
		Step 4 of 4 - Create WordFile Step 4 is the final step of the process where the wordfile is created and saved. The wordfile name is specified in the "Word File Name:" textbox.
		The format of the wordfile is selected.
		And the folder where the wordfile is to be saved is chosen. Clicking the "Set folder in which to save Word Files" hyperlink
		which brings up a "Browse for Folder" dialogue.
		Finally the word file is created and saved by clicking the "Compile and Save Word File" button.
		If all goes well a dialogue box will appear confirming the name and location of the saved wordfile. That is it!!
