Audio FlashCards (Chinese) for Windows Mobile & Pocket PC is an audio-based Chinese vocabulary flash-card program for Pocket PC 2003. The program has been designed to help students learn a large number of Chinese words as quickly as possible in a systematic but fun and simple way.

The program incorporates an audio feature that uses a native speaker's voice recordings of every word's pronunciation to aid the learning process.

Word Files comprising over 3600 of the most frequently used Chinese words, each with a native speaker's voice recording of its pronunciation, are available for free download.

Word Files contain both Simplified and Traditional Chinese characters. Switching between simplified and traditional characters is done through the program options. What are Simplified or Traditional characters?

ReadWrite Chinese

  

ReadWrite Chinese for Windows Mobile & Pocket PC teaches the 1000 most frequently used Chinese characters. The program features each character's meaning, pinyin pronunciations and stroke order illustrations and animations.

Both Simplified and Traditional character versions of the program are available. What are Simplified or Traditional characters?

The program utilizes a Learning List which, at any one time, contains a small subset of the total 1000 characters.

Students begin by reviewing the characters in the Learning List and then progress to a number of exercises. If all the exercises are completed correctly for a particular character, it then moves off the learning list and another yet unlearned character replaces it. If a mistake is made in any of the exercises, the character's scores are reset and all exercises must be repeated.

Declan's Chinese Dictionary

  

Declan's Chinese Dictionary for Windows Mobile and Pocket PC uses the CEDICT Chinese-English dictionary database.

Declan's Chinese Dictionary allows flexible searches of the dictionary including using Pinyin (with and without tone numbers).

The CEDICT databases are not shipped with Declan's Chinese Dictionary but need to be downloaded and installed manually. The dictionaries can be downloaded from the links below:
